How to merge any two games with AI
Most people are not searching for a category called “AI merge games.” They want one pair, or the steps to try it themselves. IGN’s piece Vibe-Coded Mashup Mods Have Taken Over X This Week describes a flood of clips made by pointing Claude at decompiled games. The examples in that article include World of Warcraft with Call of Duty: World at War, Escape from Tarkov with Skyrim, and Spider-Man in Arkham City. IGN also says those clips had not shown up on Nexus Mods. A busy feed is not a catalog of working downloads.
1. Look up the pair before you prompt anything
Search this site’s pair pages and the creator’s own GitHub. A viral clip is not a mod. SkyCraft, ER Mario, and the MW2 rewrite published files. The Jacobs Elden Ring clip, the Skyrim combat clip, and the Mario 64 voxel demo did not, in the sources we checked.
2. Own the games and back up the saves
Universal Modder and the released mashups expect local copies you already own. Copy saves somewhere outside the game folder. Use a spare install if you have one.
3. Prefer a published project over a fresh agent run
If the creator shipped a README, follow that. Building a second unofficial mashup on top of a decompiled game is how fake reuploads and publisher complaints start.
4. If nothing public exists, use an agent on games you own
Universal Modder is the public skill at github.com/rehan-remade/universal-modder. The Claude Code install steps live in our other guide. Melty’s FAQ says you can paste its instructions into Claude Code or Codex so the agent builds a mashup of games you own. Read those instructions on melty.gg. We are not republishing them.
5. Stay offline and do not ship the games’ files
Elden Ring mashups we checked start with anti-cheat off and say never to go online. Do not upload a zip that contains either game. A poster from the generator is the part you can share.
The toolkit, not a finished mod
The commands that install Universal Modder are on the Claude Code and Codex guide, checked against universalmodder.dev. They add a skill. They do not merge two games by themselves. MindStudio’s Doom-and-Skyrim write-up is a report of one local demo, not a file you can download.
github.com/rehan-remade/universal-modder is the repository. melty.gg is a separate launcher. Its own FAQ says mashups run on games you own, and that you can hand its instructions to Claude Code or Codex. SkyCraft and ER Mario are also listed there. Follow the creator’s README if the launcher and the repo disagree.
Start from a pair
- Minecraft in Elden Ring — Clip, plus two later projects
- Mario 64 in Elden Ring — Playable Windows mod
- Minecraft in Skyrim — Playable Windows mod
- Skyrim x Elden Ring — Clip, Skyrim package not public yet
- Skate 3 x MW2 — Playable Windows build
- Minecraft in Mario 64 — Demo only, no public download
If you only want to see the idea, the poster generator on each of those pages is already filled in. It makes original concept art. It does not build a mod.
