How to install Doom in Skyrim (Universal Moder demo)
MindStudio's 7 October 2026 article describes a local Doom-and-Skyrim mashup built by pointing a coding agent at Universal Moder. No public download of that finished mod showed up in the sources we checked. You would be rebuilding one yourself. Follow the creator if a step here and the README disagree.

What coverage reported
These lines come from the linked articles. This site has not run the project.
- MindStudio says the prompt was essentially “mash up Doom and Skyrim,” the agent ran for about an hour, and the result put Doom's player and weapons in Skyrim.
- The same article says Skyrim NPCs fought Doom's monsters and either side could die, but everyone was set to maximum aggression, so normal dialogue and quest talk did not work.
- The article says the Doom/Skyrim build did not need Fal-generated art. A Fal key is optional in Universal Moder when a mashup needs new assets.
- The writer says you need legitimate copies, and that the creator bought another copy of Skyrim for the project.
Requirements
- Both games
- Your own copies. Universal Moder is a skill for an agent, not a packaged mod.
- Universal Modder
- The public Claude Code install path, checked against universalmodder.dev on 8 October 2026 (upstream snapshot 6c02e77), is the plugin marketplace command plus a clone of github.com/rehan-remade/universal-modder.
- Coding agent
- MindStudio describes the skill as something you point Claude Code, Codex, or Gemini at. The step-by-step install page we checked is written for Claude Code.
Install steps
- Do not look for a Doom-in-Skyrim zip from this demo. The MindStudio piece describes a local build, not a release you can download.
- Install Claude Code, Git, and Python 3.10 or newer. The upstream guide also mentions uv, ffmpeg, and a backup of your saves.
- Inside a Claude Code session, add the marketplace and install the plugin with the commands on universalmodder.dev/guides/claude-code/. Those commands do not install a game or a finished mod.
- Start a fresh session and ask the agent to inspect a game you own before it changes anything. Confirm the engine, version, and files it would touch.
- Only then ask for a mashup, and keep the result private unless you have rights to distribute it. MindStudio points at publisher takedowns of other AI fan projects once they were shared publicly.
Before you touch a save
- We have not run this mashup. Treat the MindStudio description as a report of one demonstration.
- A generated mod can break saves. Use a spare install and a backup.
- Distributing a mashup can be the point where a publisher objects, even if building it locally for yourself was tolerated. This is not legal advice.
