Minecraft in GTA V

A source example inside Universal Modder runs Minecraft Java 26.3 beside GTA V story mode and draws it into the frame. You build it yourself. TweakTown's earlier note of a GTA V clip did not link this repo.

What it does

  • GTA's camera drives Minecraft. GTA's ground becomes invisible collision. Minecraft's picture is composited with a depth test.
  • Placed blocks become invisible GTA props, capped around 400 because the README says GTA crashes near 1,500 script objects.
  • The README describes TNT and creepers as GTA explosions, crossbow fireworks as rockets, sword hits that shove people and cars, elytra flight, mobs fighting police, and a Nether shift that turns the sky red.

Requirements

GTA V
Legacy, Steam, game build 3889, which is the build the README says it was tested on. Also ScriptHookV 3889.0 and ReShade 6.8.0.
Minecraft
Java 26.3 with Fabric, from the example's own mod folder. You need a machine that can build a Fabric mod and a ScriptHookV plugin.

Install steps

  1. There is no release zip for this example. Clone Universal Modder and read examples/minecraft-gta5-passthrough/README.md.
  2. Match the tested versions before you spend time building: GTA V Legacy build 3889, ScriptHookV 3889.0, ReShade 6.8.0, Minecraft Java 26.3.
  3. This site does not host the code, ScriptHook, or any GTA files. Use a copy of GTA V you own.

Before you touch a save

  • ScriptHookV and ReShade are third-party tools. Story mode is what the README describes. Do not take modded GTA Online.
  • Repos that bundle GTA source or ripped assets are not this example. If a download includes game files, skip it.
  • The star count is for the Universal Modder repository, not a promise that this example is finished.
